Close other downloads, stand near the router and run the test two or three times at different hours. A single reading at 9pm tells you about 9pm.
The test transfers data between this browser and the M. Opoku server and times it. That describes the path your traffic actually takes, which is the number that matters when a video call stutters. Run it and this section fills with what your connection will and will not carry.
How fast data reaches you. This is the number operators advertise, and the one that decides how many streams a household can run at once.
How fast you can send. On mobile broadband it is usually a fraction of the download, and it is what video calls, cloud backups and CCTV depend on.
How long a round trip to the server takes. Under 50 ms feels instant; over 150 ms makes calls and gaming feel laggy however fast the line is.
How much the ping varies between samples. Steady is better than fast here — high jitter is what makes a voice call break up.
